In 2026, LPP refreshed its group structure in line with the Government’s Fit for the Future reforms. These reforms were designed to strengthen governance across the LGPS, increase investment in UK industries and ensure long‑term sustainability through asset‑pool consolidation.

As part of this process, LPPI moved out of the LPP group to integrate its new partner funds. LPPA continues to operate independently within the group – creating a simple structure that supports strong governance and long‑term stability.

How LPPA fits into LPP

LPPA is the pension administration company within the LPP group. Although LPP is our legal parent entity, LPPA operates as a standalone organisation with clear accountability for how we deliver our services.

Independent operations

LPPA delivers pension administration services through its own systems, teams and day‑to‑day operations.

Leadership and governance

LPPA has its own leadership team, shareholders and governance arrangements, distinct from any investment activity.

Dedicated client services

LPPA’s client relationships and partner fund arrangements are completely separate, with clear roles and responsibilities.

No crossover with investment activity

LPPA’s role is focused entirely on pension administration, with no involvement in investment activity.
